Sophie Bauer received her bachelor’s degree in Medical Engineering from Technical University of Chemnitz before pursuing a master’s degree in Medical Technology and Assistance Systems at the Technical University of Munich. During her master’s studies, she developed and optimized endothelialized flow chambers and investigated vascularized 3D in vitro models for angiogenesis and tumor studies. In 2026, she joined the BPM group as a doctoral researcher, where she investigates flow and transport processes in vascular in vitro models of the cardiovascular system.
