Mathias Höfler studied physics at the University of Konstanz where he received his bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in 2016 and 2019, respectively. In his undergraduate research he was studying the wavelength-dependency of DNA damage induction, by means of femtosecond lasers, and the recruitment dynamics of DNA repair proteins. During his Master courses, he focused on soft matter physics and MD simulations in the field of the Berezinskii-Kosterlitz-Thouless phase transition where he studied the transition for an off-lattice XY-model. Fascinated by the physics underlying biology, in 2020, he joined ourresearch group for Biological Physics and Morphogenesis. His current work is dedicated to the study of plant growth and development at the plant shoot.
